The Sensory Stop, provides a welcoming environment for neuro-typical children and those with special needs to come together. Our programs encourage creativity, teamwork, and social emotional growth through various classes and events, and support groups designed to meet diverse sensory needs for the whole family.

At The Sensory Stop, we aren't teaching children to fit perfectly inside someone else's lines. We're giving them the tools, confidence, and support to create something beautiful outside of them.

Here, your little SEEDS will sprout, learning,  healthy ways to recognize, express, and manage big emotions; Improve social & communication skills; build self-esteem through exploration, choice-making, and  new experiences; and discover sensory preferences and develop strategies for feeling regulated.

Wayne County Focus

We serve youth and families across the Wayne County region.  Our sensory-integrated programs are designed to support social emotional growth in a nurturing, modern environment.

Self-regulation isn’t simply about controlling emotions or behavior. Children are constantly receiving information from both their bodies and their environments, and those sensory experiences can influence attention, emotional responses, social interactions, and readiness to learn.

By connecting sensory awareness with social-emotional education, children can begin to understand what they are feeling, what their bodies are communicating, and what strategies may help them respond. Over time, this can create a foundation for greater self-awareness, confidence, connection, and independence.

  1. Greater self-awareness

  2. A stronger toolbox for self-regulation

  3. Emotional literacy and communication

  4. Confidence and self-advocacy

  5. Social connection and empathy

  6. Readiness for learning and participation

  7. Skills for lifelong well-being
